Leadership Forums

Here company leaders and senior managers join a programme where they develop their leadership skills and undertake a project that will develop their business. This is a six-month programme where you meet with people from other organisations on a monthly basis.

At these meetings you support others while being supported with your topics whether a concern or celebration. Throughout the meeting, you are practicing your skills and you receive feedback in a constructive and supportive way.

Here is what a previous participant said:

I came on the programme looking for the answer to a business problem: low profitability. Carrying out the project demonstrated to me that low profitability was not the problem. It was merely a symptom of other problems which have their roots both within me and outside in the marketplace.

As a result of the research and reflection I have done, I have developed a way of determining just what the business actually does, how it relates to me, our staff, our customers and society. One result is that I am now more aware of the important factors external to our business. I now try to spend time considering what we should be doing rather than just monitoring what we have done.

At the start of the programme, you complete a self-assessment questionnaire on your leadership style. We also gain feedback from your direct reports and peers, if applicable. You also have support from one of the facilitators to ensure you are set to make the most of the programme both personally and your chosen project.

It is important that you attend each session so you maintain momentum on your project.

In month six, we conduct a follow-up assessment so you gain feedback not just how you personally feel the programme has gone but also how your refections have had an impact on your direct reports and peers. This is in addition to the actions and changes you implement in the business which will already be having an impact.

Venue
It is important that for the duration of the programme you are in an environment that fosters learning, development and reflection. So, there is a choice of venues in countryside settings in Surrey and Sussex.
