Who else will be on the programme?
Each programme will have people from a similar background. This may mean that some programmes will have CEOs and MDs while others will have senior or middle managers. It is important that you are with people who have similar positions so you can share your knowledge and learn from others.
Will they be from the same sort of organisation as me?
We will only have people from a similar organisation if those people agree that this is acceptable. We do not want people to be in a position where company confidentiality is threatened.
Can I choose who I am to be with?
You will not be able to choose the members of your cohort as such. Please remember that everyone is choosing to be on the programme and want to have a positive outcome.
Will all the discussions be confidential?
All sessions are completely confidential, unless otherwise stated. At the first session, the ground rules for the group will be agreed.

How much time will I be away from the office?
You will be out of the office for a maximum of one day every 4 to 6 weeks. If you opt for the coaching between sessions, this will be done via telephone and email at a time that suits you.
How much am I on my own?
You will have the support of fellow programme members at each session. If you opt for the coaching sessions, then you will have a maximum of two coaching sessions. If you opt for the regular service, you will receive a follow up call prior to each session to gain a progress report on activity completed as agreed and the objectives for the nest session. This will then be disseminated to the other members prior to the meeting.
Who are the facilitators?
Karen Purves is the main facilitator on this programme. She has been running her own business for the past 18 years, working with board members and being a board member of five companies.
This is feedback about Karen as a facilitator for these sessions:
“Karen has a strong presence while leading a set. Yet she has a stillness and clam that puts people at ease. She makes sure that everyone is connected.”
“Karen left enough space in the session for everyone to participate, yet at the same time she was challenging and ensured the group got the most out of the experience.”
“Karen creates a safe and warm space for the group to participate. She made sure all the members felt cared for.”
“Karen has an inclusive style, yet is not involved in the group. She is a silent partner.”
Why should I do the programme?
This programme is for every person who has a commitment to continually improve themselves and to ensure their organisations is in a leading position in the marketplace.
What have others said?
Here are a few examples:
“I feel that with a group of strangers you can be more open and honest…. You have no hierarchies or difficult relationships to be concerned about”.
“I’d always assumed that the way we did things was naturally the best. I’ve realised this isn’t necessarily the case. I have taken away many very practical ideas on how to structure our performance assessment procedures”.
“The problems in my sector are the same as everyone else’s in other organisations! That was reassuring. It meant we really could give each other insights and ideas that could be helpful, instead of repeating our own follies over and over again.”
Why can’t it be local to me?
Ashdown Park has been chosen specifically for its location. It is ideally suited for getting away from the office, its distractions and working in a beautiful and tranquil setting.
What time of day does a Leadership Forum take place?
There is a choice of times – starting at either 11:30am, 2pm or 6pm
Each session will take between 4 and 5 hours.
Will I have a choice of dates?
When you book, you will be asked for the days of the week that are most suitable and any dates that you can not make. The sessions are then agreed by all participants taking everyone’s availability into account.
What happens if I don’t get on with the other members of the programme?
We will discuss with you any problems. But, any problems should be addressed as part of the session as there will be various times throughout the day for issues to be raised and action taken.
For questions about Workshops:
How many people will be on the workshop?
This depends upon the topic. Where it is beneficial for the client to have feedback from the facilitator or trainer, the numbers are smaller to allow that to happen. This is the case on the Speaking Skills and Leadership courses. While the participants on the networking course would benefit from practicing their new approaches so the numbers tend to be larger.
In any case, the maximum number of participants is 15.
How much will it cost?
This will depend upon the duration, type of course and maximum number of participants. Please see the individual course programme for details on costs.
Who will lead the workshops?
Only faciltiators with extensive knowledge of the subject matter and experience in imparting that knowledge deliver workshops.
We pride ourselves on providing the best opportunities for to gain the most from attending a workshop. Call us for a discussion on joining the programme
